My take on the 'Once upon a time...' prompt.

 Once upon a time... 

...there was a normal boy named Jay. He grew up in a normal city with normal parents and a normal younger sister. Life was normal too. One normal morning, the news that flashed on the normal television was not so normal. The news was about a not so normal virus that was spreading at a not so normal rate. Along with this news, the normal life of Jay and his family changed not so normally and everything which were not so normal became the new normal. Wearing a not so normal mask, maintaining a not so normal distance between people and washing hands for a not so normal number of times in a day had become the new normal. Normal schools became not so normal and so did normal smartphones. But the most normal thing that Jay not so normally adapted in this not so normal situation is that... Life goes on...even in the new normal.

The Choice factor

  That brisk strut with billowing robes behind. That almost sneering smirk under his hooked nose. That voice lashes out at people in the most subtle way possible. That is Severus Tobias Snape, Potion Master at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizarding, the dour ’bat’ of the dungeons. But my hero-worship for this misunderstood man has made me reflect on one of the important lessons for life-The Choice Factor. Although Snape's passion for the Dark Arts and the Dark Mark on his arm, along with his air of intimidation and sharp tongue attributes to his 'villain' aura, the choices that he made speak differently about his true character. The choices that he made say it all. It is not so surprising how similarly Snape and Voldemort are portrayed throughout the series. Both men had strikingly similar parentage; with muggle fathers and pureblood mothers and a miserable childhood. A 'Complete the story' prompt

  “AFTER TWENTY YEARS” by O.HENRY Provide your imaginative ending to the given story. Note: Word limit - 250- 350 words Jimmy Wells and ‘Silky’ Bob -were thick childhood friends. However, once Bob left to pursue his fortunes in the West, the two eventually lost touch. Nevertheless, they had promised to meet each other in 20 years, to the hour, after their last dinner together at the same spot in New York City. Jimmy Wells became a Cop wherein Bob turned out to be an outlaw. Twenty years later, Bob was waiting outside where the restaurant once stood when he and Jimmy parted ways; the latter, who’s now a policeman, comes upon him while he’s walking his beat. After hearing Bob’s story about the friends’ pledge to meet up again and watching him light up a cigar, Jimmy recognizes it’s Bob.
